WHO WE ARE

Experience should have a seat at the table.

#EndSystematicAbuse is a community-centered advocacy platform rooted in lived experience. We turn personal knowledge into public education, policy ideas, leadership, and action.

Our work focuses on building systems that protect dignity, strengthen families, prevent unnecessary separation, and create real accountability when systems fail the people they are meant to serve.

WHAT WE DO

From lived experience to lasting change.

Advocate

Lift community voices and advance policies that protect families and rights.

Educate

Translate complex systems, policies, and rights into accessible information.

Empower

Build leadership and participation among people directly affected by systems.

Reform

Promote transparency, due process, accountability, and community-informed solutions.

Heal

Center dignity, restoration, connection, and the human impact behind policy.

POLICY PRIORITIES

Three priorities. One shared goal: stronger families.

01

Due Process & Accountability

Strengthen transparency, fairness, meaningful participation, and accountability throughout child welfare decision-making.

02

Lived-Experience Leadership

Require meaningful representation of people with lived experience in policy, program design, oversight, and evaluation.

03

Family Preservation & Community Support

Invest upstream in housing stability, community resources, prevention, and supports before crisis becomes separation.

SPEAKING & LEADERSHIP

Leading while healing.

Karlena brings a lived-experience perspective to conversations about child welfare, prevention, family preservation, accountability, community leadership, and systems change.
